  • Gossip Girl gets political

Gossip Girl stars Penn Badgley and Blake Lively star in a new PSA, asking kids to warn their parents of the dangers of voting for John McCain (in the style of an anti-drug ad). Looks like these Upper East-Siders are Obama fans:

Talk to your parents about voting for McCain

  • Paging Josh Schwartz: you aren't in the OC anymore

According to Jessica Szhor (Vanessa), there is a death coming up!

I’ll give it a 75% chance Nate’s Dad (“The captain”) dies of a drug overdose in whatever country he’s hiding out in, and 25% that Bart Bass dies of a heart attack and falls into a pool, leaving his beautiful widow free to romance her studly ex (hey, this show IS supposed to be the OC of the east).

Which character do you think is gonna be off’d??

And speaking of the OC…Kaitlin Cooper is back! Although Mischa Barton turned down a role on Gossip Girl last season, her former TV sis (actress Willa Holland) has joined the show for a guest spot. Wonder who her character will be????

    Till next time…xoxo!

The GG crew heads to Yale for the weekend, and Jenny convinces Rufus to let her be homeschooled to pursue her fashion career (yawn)

Fashion Loser: Shockingly, all Blair! 1) Blair sleeping in what looked like a cocktail dress at the beginning of the episode (never classy to sleep in what you wore the night before, B) 2) Blair’s funeral-esque getup at the Dean’s dinner party, complete with huge horrendous bow and 3) Her mismatched skirt/blouse ensemble at the end. SERIOUS case of conflicting stripes.

Fashion Winner: Serena’s dress at the Dean’s dinner. A bit low-cut for a college visit, but it fit her like a glove. Take a gossip girl fashion quiz on this episode!

Worst moment(s): “The only real Ivies are the holy trinity—Harvard, Yale, and Princeton” –Blair. Sure, if you’re an elitist snob. Oops, forgot who was talking!

    The Blair/Serena reconciliation.

Best moment: chuck gets shot down for thinking a girl in the bar is a prostitute, and Dan punches her indignant boyfriend. Look of shock and gratitude on chuck’s face is proof that he may still possess human emotion!

Fashion Winner: Jenny’s flower pattern sundress had me until I saw how short it was (and really, Taylor, you’re a beautiful girl! Stop slouching! It’ll make the clothes look SO much better!). So the look of the night has to go to Blair’s blue belted sundress ensemble.

  • A new man for Serena?

OMG! There are so many exciting new developments as season 2 hits full stride. First, some casting news:

It certainly doesn't look like it took Serena very long to get over Dan! The Upper East Side's resurrected diva has taken a shine to a new man, played by John Patrick Amedori, best known for playing the young Ashton Kutcher in The Butterfly Effect. John Patrick plays Aaron Rose, an edgy artist who woos our newly single heroine beginning in episode 8. Looks like they make a hot couple--just check out these pictures posted on celebuzz.

Another fantastic piece of casting news is the role of Aaron's father, Cyrus, who will be played by Wallace Shawn.
